About the holiday home

In this lovely house on Runmarö in the Stockholm archipelago you will experience a quiet and peaceful holiday, with absolute proximity to the forest, sea and smooth bathing rocks. The house has two floors, the ground floor consists of a combined kitchen and living room with double doors out to a large terrace with various seating areas. The kitchen has all the amenities you could need. Here is also the bathroom that was renovated in 2024. The large bathroom has a shower, sink and a compost toilet that is fresh and practical, everything disappears into a large tank under the house. Here you can only throw toilet paper, the compost is used in nature when it is ready. Upstairs are the bedrooms and a living room, from which you can look down to the water. If you take a short walk across the plot you will find the bathing jetty and smooth bathing rocks with a magical view of the bay. In the basement there is a washing machine that you can use and which is shared with the other part of the house. The house is a semi-detached house, but the terraces are completely separate from each other. The owner lends two bicycles, it is about 5 km to the shop which is also a delivery point for pharmacies and system companies. There is a restaurant 4 km from the house. To get here, park in Stavsnäs on the mainland and take the archipelago boat to Långvik, a trip of about 20 minutes. There will be a cart that says Stugsommar on it that you can use to pull your luggage. From there, you walk on nice gravel roads about 1 km. There is a taxi on the island that you can book to go to the shop or restaurant if you don't want to cycle or walk. There are plenty of hiking trails on the island and abundant mushroom forests. If you want to go to Sandhamn which is further out in the archipelago, you take the boat from Långvik that goes there and back.

Sweden has been admitted to UNESCO's list of world heritage for its unique coastline. Middle and north of Sweden have countless rivers, lakes and streams criss-crossing the country. Sometimes you get the feeling that the country is swimming with only forests and fields acting as links between rivers and lakes. This is particular noticeable for the middle part of Sweden where the ice age left plain tracks. Thousands of lakes fill the gorges created when the ice retracted to the North.

Midsummer in Sweden

The midsummer party in Sweden is truly unique. To many it is a symbol of the lightness, the light and the life force symbolic of the Nordic summer. Midsummer in Sweden is the biggest celebration of solstice in Scandinavia.

When the most Swedish of Swedish parties approach, the whole country is exited. Midsummer is traditionally a feast celebrated with family and friends, but if you are a tourist you are welcome to join the festivities. It is celebrated all over the country - by the coast, in the skerries, by idyllic lakes, in the mountains or one of the islands. All is good, as long as there is plenty of pristine and diverse nature around.

Before the holiday

Rental agreement and route description

Shortly after booking holiday accommodation through DanCenter you will receive your booking confirmation by post. This confirmation constitutes your rental agreement and contains all necessary information. On the first page you will find information the addresses of your holiday home and the key pick up place, as well as a route description. At the bottom of the page there is a detachable post card for ordering miscellaneous extras, which can be useful to have while on holiday. On the following pages you will find the invoice for the stay you have booked complete with transfer order/inpayment form, stating the due date.

On arrival at the key pick up point, you will be asked to present your rental agreement whereupon you will be handed your key. More often than not electricity, water and other charges are included in the rental amount. Where this is not the case you will also receive an electricity-envelope on which the meter readings of all consumption dependant expenses are to be noted upon arrival as well as departure.

Notice of arrival

If you wish to rent a boat or engine however, you need to give notice no less than a month before arrival.

Time of arrival Arrival can take place from 4 p.m. on the day the rental period commences. If you expect to arrive at a different time please arrange this with the contact person in advance. Contact information can be found on your rental agreement.

Extras

On the detachable post card at the bottom of the rental agreement, miscellaneous extras can be ordered - however only those stated in the description of your holiday home.

All holiday homes are equipped with all kitchen utensils necessary for the maximum amount of persons, which the house can room. Bed linen, dish cloths, table cloths etc. can in some places be rented.

On the post card you can also order the final cleaning, if this is mentioned in the description of your holiday home.

All extras must be ordered in conjunction with sending the notice of arrival no less than 14 days before commencement of the rental period. If you wish to rent a boat or engine however you need to give notice no less than a month before arrival.

What is a cleaning audit charge?

We charge customers a small cleaning audit fee to prepare the room for the next guest, even as some outgoing guests prefer to clean the room themselves. Are such guests still required to pay a cleaning charge? Yes. Please let us explain.

While we appreciate guests cleaning the room themselves, we nonetheless conduct an audit to ensure that the room is in excellent shape. The cleaning audit fee we levy is for the time and effort involved in checking that our cleaning standards have been met, so that we can provide our customers with the best experience.

Pets

If you have rented a holiday home in which pets are permitted please remember that it is a lengthy and quite difficult process to obtain all necessary permits for the import of pets to Sweden. Therefore please contact the Swedish Tourist Board or embassy well in advance.

Ferry connections and bridge crossings

If you have booked a holiday home in Sweden you can either go via Copenhagen across the Øresund Bridge or take a ferry. The bridge toll is 225,- Danish Kroner/crossing. If you choose to go by ferry please remember to order your tickets well in advance.
