Welcome to a delightful place to stay on beautiful Ivö—Skåne’s largest island, situated in the middle of the scenic Lake Ivösjön. You can reach the island via a free car ferry from Barum in just 7 minutes. Here, you can enjoy the peace and quiet, the beautiful surroundings, and a relaxing stay with family and friends.
The house offers plenty of space for socializing and spending time together. The kitchen features an open-plan layout and is fully equipped for self-catering. Adjacent to the kitchen, you will find a comfortable seating area with a sofa, a TV, a fireplace, and a small dining table. Near one of the entrances, there is a large, bright room with a spacious dining table—the perfect spot for the whole group to gather for shared meals, long breakfasts, and pleasant dinners. On the ground floor, there is one bedroom with a double bed, and another with three sleeping spots (a bunk bed featuring a double-sized lower bunk). There is also a room with a comfortable sofa and armchairs, ideal for playing board games—a selection of which is available for guests to use. The bathroom is fresh and includes a shower and a washing machine. A somewhat steep staircase—fitted with a door at the bottom and a safety gate at the top—leads to the upper level, which consists of a spacious, open loft. Here, you will find built-in beds of various sizes tucked under the sloping roof. It is a cozy space with ample room for play, while also offering a quiet corner to get some work done or curl up with a book in one of the armchairs. The courtyard by the main entrance provides a private setting with outdoor furniture and leads through to a large lawn—perfect for activities or simply relaxing on additional garden furniture.
Ivö offers a unique setting with attractions such as Ivöklack—located within a beautiful nature reserve and boasting breathtaking views—the well-preserved "Biskopskällaren" (Bishop’s Cellar), and Ivögården, which features a restaurant and its own vineyard (please check their website for limited opening hours). Near the ferry landing, you will find Ivö Camping, complete with a swimming area, a seasonal ice cream kiosk, and a snack bar. On the mainland, Bäckaskog Castle is well worth a visit, hosting a variety of events throughout the year.
