Örebro, with its lively city center, offers a wide range of activities for the whole family and is a popular destination that visitors love to return to. Here, you can stroll, shop, enjoy a café visit at the castle, explore the city’s attractions, or hop on a bike and travel between farm cafés and flea markets. If the season allows, you can also glide along the Svartån River in a kayak.

Örebro Castle has radiated its royal elegance since the Middle Ages and is open daily during the summer. Here, you can travel back in time through guided tours and exhibitions. The city’s most famous building is undoubtedly Svampen, a must-see for visitors. You can take the elevator to the top of this popular striped water tower, which offers a beautiful view of the city from 58 meters up. When the tower opened in the 1950s, Svampen was the first mushroom-shaped water tower in the world, and since then, many have followed both in Sweden and abroad. At the top, you’ll find a restaurant, café, and sky bar where you can enjoy the exquisite mushroom soup while taking in the panoramic views—a delightful way to experience Örebro.

Dress for the weather and explore Örebro’s beautiful nature on your own terms. The varied landscape offers trails for hiking, cycling, and paddling. Amboberget features a 9 km hiking loop with scenic viewpoints and exciting caves. Frihetsportalen is a cave with a crack that you can walk through, offering a thrilling experience. In Kilsbergen, you’ll find the Rusakulan viewpoint, with dizzying heights and magnificent views. On a clear day, you can see large parts of Närke. Just north of Örebro lies Rosendal, a well-known climbing area with steep cliffs and stunning views in one of Sweden’s best bouldering spots. If climbing isn’t your thing, you can still enjoy the magnificent scenery via trails that lead up the ridges.

Just a 10-minute walk from Örebro city is the popular adventure water park, Lost City, one of Europe’s largest. Here, the whole family can experience an unforgettable water adventure. In a thrilling jungle environment, there are six large water slides, three of which let you speed down on a rubber ring with butterflies in your stomach. There is a large pool with a wave machine, and for the youngest visitors, two mini slides and children’s pools. Outside, there is a large outdoor summer pool, also featuring multiple slides and pools under the open sky.
