Welcome to this cozy seaside accommodation in a sunny location, situated in the heart of the Havstenssund peninsula, known for its beautiful beaches and one of Bohuslän’s most famous nature reserves, Tjurpannan, offering magnificent views over the archipelago stretching to the horizon. The cottage provides a scenic rural setting surrounded by nature, perfect for hiking in forests and open landscapes or along the coast and seaside cliffs with stunning views. It is also ideal for those who enjoy kayaking, canoeing, or trout fishing. The Sannäs fjord offers sheltered waters and rich marine life.

Take a trip to the old fishing village of Havstenssund or the seaside resort of Grebbestad for refreshing sea baths, stroll along the lively marina, enjoy a meal at a restaurant or outdoor café, browse local shops, or simply relax and breathe in the fresh sea air along the waterfront promenades. Don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy crayfish, shrimp, and especially oysters—considered by many to be among the best in the world!

From the cottage’s veranda, you enter through the front door into a hallway that opens into a spacious open-plan layout with inviting social areas, including a living room with comfortable sofas and a TV, a dining area, and a kitchen equipped with stove, fridge/freezer, coffee maker, and dishwasher. There are two bedrooms with double beds, a bathroom with a bathtub and WC, as well as a laundry room with a washing machine and drying cabinet.

From the hallway, stairs lead to the upper floor, which features one bedroom with a double bed, a large bedroom with six 120 cm single beds, and a WC. Patio doors from the laundry room, living room, and one of the ground-floor bedrooms lead out to a large, sunny terrace with comfortable lounge chairs, an outdoor dining set, and a barbecue. Part of the terrace is covered, providing both shelter and shade—perfect for enjoying meals, conversations, and delicious seafood or a juicy grilled steak. The cottage is equipped with WiFi.

There are several picturesque fishing villages nearby in northern Bohuslän, where you can explore narrow streets, summer shops, and restaurants, as well as rent boat charters, fishing trips, or kayaks to experience the beautiful archipelago. The area is also home to several stunning nature reserves, including Sweden’s first marine national park, Kosterhavet National Park, which is well worth a visit.

You can also visit Vitlycke Museum, a knowledge and experience center in the Tanum World Heritage area, home to around 600 rock carving sites. Here you can join a guided tour or explore freely among the carvings and interpret these unique historical artworks.

For golf enthusiasts, there are several courses to choose from, with Mjölkeröd Golf Club being the closest.

About Tanum

Tanum is, in terms of area, the largest municipality in Bohuslän. Here, you can enjoy fresh seafood and experience breathtaking nature. The rock carvings are Tanum’s unique World Heritage Site, offering a chance to see this valuable Bronze Age art up close.

There are many wonderful excursion destinations to choose from; stroll through a nature reserve or visit Vetteberget, which rises high above Fjällbacka and offers a spectacular view of both the archipelago and the mainland. Bohuslän’s highest waterfall is found in the Bullarebygden area, which borders Norway, with a total drop of 46 meters. There is a bridge below the dramatic waterfall that provides easy access. It is a special place to visit, especially during the water-rich periods of autumn and spring.

The Väderöarna islands lie as the westernmost outpost, reachable by private boat or tour boat from Hamburgsund, Fjällbacka, or Grebbestad. Here you’ll find one of Bohuslän’s largest seal colonies, and you can visit the Pilot Tower, a unique monument commemorating the Väderöarna’s pilot and maritime history, an important part of Sweden’s cultural heritage. Experience the rugged environment and the fantastic view from the tower.

Havstenssund is a peaceful oasis with several active fishing boats in the harbor and extremely clear water, considered by many to be some of the best in the world for paddling. Get out and enjoy!

Before the holiday

Rental agreement and route description

Shortly after booking holiday accommodation through DanCenter you will receive your booking confirmation by post. This confirmation constitutes your rental agreement and contains all necessary information. On the first page you will find information the addresses of your holiday home and the key pick up place, as well as a route description. At the bottom of the page there is a detachable post card for ordering miscellaneous extras, which can be useful to have while on holiday. On the following pages you will find the invoice for the stay you have booked complete with transfer order/inpayment form, stating the due date.

On arrival at the key pick up point, you will be asked to present your rental agreement whereupon you will be handed your key. More often than not electricity, water and other charges are included in the rental amount. Where this is not the case you will also receive an electricity-envelope on which the meter readings of all consumption dependant expenses are to be noted upon arrival as well as departure.

Notice of arrival

If you wish to rent a boat or engine however, you need to give notice no less than a month before arrival.

Time of arrival Arrival can take place from 4 p.m. on the day the rental period commences. If you expect to arrive at a different time please arrange this with the contact person in advance. Contact information can be found on your rental agreement.

Extras

On the detachable post card at the bottom of the rental agreement, miscellaneous extras can be ordered - however only those stated in the description of your holiday home.

All holiday homes are equipped with all kitchen utensils necessary for the maximum amount of persons, which the house can room. Bed linen, dish cloths, table cloths etc. can in some places be rented.

On the post card you can also order the final cleaning, if this is mentioned in the description of your holiday home.

All extras must be ordered in conjunction with sending the notice of arrival no less than 14 days before commencement of the rental period. If you wish to rent a boat or engine however you need to give notice no less than a month before arrival.

What is a cleaning audit charge?

We charge customers a small cleaning audit fee to prepare the room for the next guest, even as some outgoing guests prefer to clean the room themselves. Are such guests still required to pay a cleaning charge? Yes. Please let us explain.

While we appreciate guests cleaning the room themselves, we nonetheless conduct an audit to ensure that the room is in excellent shape. The cleaning audit fee we levy is for the time and effort involved in checking that our cleaning standards have been met, so that we can provide our customers with the best experience.

Pets

If you have rented a holiday home in which pets are permitted please remember that it is a lengthy and quite difficult process to obtain all necessary permits for the import of pets to Sweden. Therefore please contact the Swedish Tourist Board or embassy well in advance.

Ferry connections and bridge crossings

If you have booked a holiday home in Sweden you can either go via Copenhagen across the Øresund Bridge or take a ferry. The bridge toll is 225,- Danish Kroner/crossing. If you choose to go by ferry please remember to order your tickets well in advance.
