About the holiday home

Welcome to this nice and cozy cottage in a sunny location. Here you live peacefully and pleasantly in a rural idyllic area with nature, animals and birdsong right around the corner. A place for body and soul to rest, for example through pleasant conversations in the summer furniture of the terrace area or from the camp site on the mountain behind where you hike up from the cottage and experience the evening sun's rays spreading over the fields, meadows and further out over the western sea.

In the area there are several cozy paths and roads suitable for both excursions and morning walks, there are both berries and mushrooms in the nearby forests. It is also not far to the famous Fjällbacka or to other nice excursion destinations and swimming spots in Northern Bohuslän

The cottage is on one level, via the patio area you reach the entrance and on the inside you are greeted by a welcoming hall that turns into a combined kitchen, dining area and living room. The kitchen has a stove, fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee maker, in the living room there is a warming wood-burning stove and a comfortable sofa. A bedroom with a comfortable 140 cm bed and a bathroom with underfloor heating, shower and washing machine. The cottage's patio area is accessed from the living room, a lovely area to enjoy summer and sunny moments, tasty meals with pleasant conversations in the company of good friends. The cottage also includes an annex with a small patio under cover. If you are looking for shade, there is a restful sofa here you can enjoy a moment of rest on or a moment together with a good book. Once inside this annex there is both a bunk bed and a sofa bed. The cottage's separate bedrooms thus provide a possibility for privacy. The accommodation has WiFi connection.

Here you have the best of the west coast, crab and mackerel fishing, salty swimming, boating and also Fjällbacka's summer bustle with shops, restaurants and cafes! The archipelago outside Fjällbacka is considered by many to be the most beautiful in Sweden. If you prefer swimming, there are both child-friendly beaches, for example at beautiful Sälvik or rock swimming and diving towers on Badholmen located in the harbor. There is also a nice disabled-friendly swimming area at Badberget bathing area. For those who want to go out to sea, there are several opportunities to take a boat trip with one of the archipelago boats. Fjällbacka has an incredibly beautiful archipelago with many both small and larger islands. Via the Tourist Office you can rent both a kayak and a boat with a motor to explore the sea on your own. For those interested in golf, there are both 18-hole and pay & play golf courses nearby. There are also several nice nature reserves with swimming-friendly sandy beaches and coastal paths to walk in, don't forget your camera, there is always a chance to see something worth a photo and that can become a memory for life.

In the surrounding area there are also several other nice fishing and sailing communities well worth a visit.

About Tanum

Tanum is, in terms of area, the largest municipality in Bohuslän. Here, you can enjoy fresh seafood and experience breathtaking nature. The rock carvings are Tanum’s unique World Heritage Site, offering a chance to see this valuable Bronze Age art up close.

There are many wonderful excursion destinations to choose from; stroll through a nature reserve or visit Vetteberget, which rises high above Fjällbacka and offers a spectacular view of both the archipelago and the mainland. Bohuslän’s highest waterfall is found in the Bullarebygden area, which borders Norway, with a total drop of 46 meters. There is a bridge below the dramatic waterfall that provides easy access. It is a special place to visit, especially during the water-rich periods of autumn and spring.

The Väderöarna islands lie as the westernmost outpost, reachable by private boat or tour boat from Hamburgsund, Fjällbacka, or Grebbestad. Here you’ll find one of Bohuslän’s largest seal colonies, and you can visit the Pilot Tower, a unique monument commemorating the Väderöarna’s pilot and maritime history, an important part of Sweden’s cultural heritage. Experience the rugged environment and the fantastic view from the tower.

Havstenssund is a peaceful oasis with several active fishing boats in the harbor and extremely clear water, considered by many to be some of the best in the world for paddling. Get out and enjoy!

Before the holiday

Rental agreement and route description

Shortly after booking holiday accommodation through DanCenter you will receive your booking confirmation by post. This confirmation constitutes your rental agreement and contains all necessary information. On the first page you will find information the addresses of your holiday home and the key pick up place, as well as a route description. At the bottom of the page there is a detachable post card for ordering miscellaneous extras, which can be useful to have while on holiday. On the following pages you will find the invoice for the stay you have booked complete with transfer order/inpayment form, stating the due date.

On arrival at the key pick up point, you will be asked to present your rental agreement whereupon you will be handed your key. More often than not electricity, water and other charges are included in the rental amount. Where this is not the case you will also receive an electricity-envelope on which the meter readings of all consumption dependant expenses are to be noted upon arrival as well as departure.

Notice of arrival

If you wish to rent a boat or engine however, you need to give notice no less than a month before arrival.

Time of arrival Arrival can take place from 4 p.m. on the day the rental period commences. If you expect to arrive at a different time please arrange this with the contact person in advance. Contact information can be found on your rental agreement.

Extras

On the detachable post card at the bottom of the rental agreement, miscellaneous extras can be ordered - however only those stated in the description of your holiday home.

All holiday homes are equipped with all kitchen utensils necessary for the maximum amount of persons, which the house can room. Bed linen, dish cloths, table cloths etc. can in some places be rented.

On the post card you can also order the final cleaning, if this is mentioned in the description of your holiday home.

All extras must be ordered in conjunction with sending the notice of arrival no less than 14 days before commencement of the rental period. If you wish to rent a boat or engine however you need to give notice no less than a month before arrival.

What is a cleaning audit charge?

We charge customers a small cleaning audit fee to prepare the room for the next guest, even as some outgoing guests prefer to clean the room themselves. Are such guests still required to pay a cleaning charge? Yes. Please let us explain.

While we appreciate guests cleaning the room themselves, we nonetheless conduct an audit to ensure that the room is in excellent shape. The cleaning audit fee we levy is for the time and effort involved in checking that our cleaning standards have been met, so that we can provide our customers with the best experience.

Pets

If you have rented a holiday home in which pets are permitted please remember that it is a lengthy and quite difficult process to obtain all necessary permits for the import of pets to Sweden. Therefore please contact the Swedish Tourist Board or embassy well in advance.

Ferry connections and bridge crossings

If you have booked a holiday home in Sweden you can either go via Copenhagen across the Øresund Bridge or take a ferry. The bridge toll is 225,- Danish Kroner/crossing. If you choose to go by ferry please remember to order your tickets well in advance.
