A nature-filled, peaceful, and cozy place to stay, close to the sea and the city

Welcome to this nature-filled cottage located in a relaxing rural setting. Here you’ll enjoy peace and quiet with wildlife and nature right around the corner; the forest is full of both mushrooms and berries. There are nature trails and paths to explore, and you can even hike all the way into Strömstad via these routes. Be sure to visit the Blomsholm Ship Alignment, which consists of 49 stones; the stones at the bow and stern are 4 meters high, making it one of Sweden’s largest ship alignments. Thanks to the cottage’s location near both the city and the sea, you can quickly and easily head into Strömstad to experience the city’s vibe, stroll along the piers, or simply sit back and relax on a bench in one of the city’s parks or at one of the many beautiful swimming spots in the area. The cottage is also a perfect starting point for exploring all of Northern Bohuslän and southern Norway.

You can park right next to the cottage’s entrance; once inside, you’ll be greeted by a large, welcoming open-concept living room and kitchen. The kitchen area features a stove, fridge/freezer, microwave, coffee maker, and dishwasher; next to the kitchen is a dining table, and in the other part of the living area, you’ll find a TV corner with a comfortable sofa and a single bed. There’s a bathroom with a shower and a washing machine, a bedroom with a comfortable double bed, and a sleeping alcove with a single bed. The patio is furnished with outdoor furniture and lounge chairs, and on the other side of the cottage, you’ll find a large, pleasant barbecue area—all so you can enjoy delicious meals, the peace and quiet, and the surrounding nature. The cottage features both underfloor heating and fiber-optic internet.

Strömstad offers a wide variety of activities, a vibrant restaurant scene, and pleasant shopping in small stores located close to one another—or why not just sit back and enjoy the view of all the boats in the harbor area? If you’d like to explore the islands and the archipelago, there are several boat charters and sightseeing boat tours departing from the harbor in the city center to various archipelago islands, such as Furholmen or the Koster Islands, as well as to neighboring Norway. You can also rent a boat or kayak for your own adventures. For golf enthusiasts, there are several excellent 18-hole courses in the area. Before the holiday

Rental agreement and route description

Shortly after booking holiday accommodation through DanCenter you will receive your booking confirmation by post. This confirmation constitutes your rental agreement and contains all necessary information. On the first page you will find information the addresses of your holiday home and the key pick up place, as well as a route description. At the bottom of the page there is a detachable post card for ordering miscellaneous extras, which can be useful to have while on holiday. On the following pages you will find the invoice for the stay you have booked complete with transfer order/inpayment form, stating the due date.

On arrival at the key pick up point, you will be asked to present your rental agreement whereupon you will be handed your key. More often than not electricity, water and other charges are included in the rental amount. Where this is not the case you will also receive an electricity-envelope on which the meter readings of all consumption dependant expenses are to be noted upon arrival as well as departure.

Notice of arrival

If you wish to rent a boat or engine however, you need to give notice no less than a month before arrival.

Time of arrival Arrival can take place from 4 p.m. on the day the rental period commences. If you expect to arrive at a different time please arrange this with the contact person in advance. Contact information can be found on your rental agreement.

Extras

On the detachable post card at the bottom of the rental agreement, miscellaneous extras can be ordered - however only those stated in the description of your holiday home.

All holiday homes are equipped with all kitchen utensils necessary for the maximum amount of persons, which the house can room. Bed linen, dish cloths, table cloths etc. can in some places be rented.

On the post card you can also order the final cleaning, if this is mentioned in the description of your holiday home.

All extras must be ordered in conjunction with sending the notice of arrival no less than 14 days before commencement of the rental period. If you wish to rent a boat or engine however you need to give notice no less than a month before arrival.

What is a cleaning audit charge?

We charge customers a small cleaning audit fee to prepare the room for the next guest, even as some outgoing guests prefer to clean the room themselves. Are such guests still required to pay a cleaning charge? Yes. Please let us explain.

While we appreciate guests cleaning the room themselves, we nonetheless conduct an audit to ensure that the room is in excellent shape. The cleaning audit fee we levy is for the time and effort involved in checking that our cleaning standards have been met, so that we can provide our customers with the best experience.

Pets

If you have rented a holiday home in which pets are permitted please remember that it is a lengthy and quite difficult process to obtain all necessary permits for the import of pets to Sweden. Therefore please contact the Swedish Tourist Board or embassy well in advance.

Ferry connections and bridge crossings

If you have booked a holiday home in Sweden you can either go via Copenhagen across the Øresund Bridge or take a ferry. The bridge toll is 225,- Danish Kroner/crossing. If you choose to go by ferry please remember to order your tickets well in advance.
