“A nice stay with all the trimmings. The stay was very clean which feels very pleasant. Beds are a bit firm, but that was a matter of getting used to. An insect screen for the sliding doors, so that you can leave it open, would be very nice. The air conditioning present is not a superfluous luxury, because although the sun was not yet fully there, the stay was warm / stuffy.”

“Just returned from a midweek at Resort de Koog. A still relatively small park with almost new luxury chalets. In terms of size and layout, the chalets look like a mobile home at first glance, but that does not do these luxury houses justice. The finishing level inside is very high with, among other things, a dishwasher, combi oven, good WiFi, beautiful sitting area and excellent dining area. The cottages all have a terrace. The decoration of this is in contrast to the inside somewhat scanty. The park has just been planted, so there is little privacy on your terrace. The park is car-free, fine in itself, but getting all the stuff to the house is therefore a small challenge. There are carts available, but they drive quite heavily over the newly constructed shell path. For a May holiday we found it very quiet in the park. This may be because the park is actually still under (re)development. The part on the other side of the road is currently being cleaned up and will undoubtedly also be equipped with luxury chalets. As a result, the small park currently lacks atmosphere. The park is located fairly centrally on the island on a fairly busy road, the noise of which unfortunately you can hear. It is about 3 kilometers to the beach or De Koog, just too far to walk, so bringing bicycles (or renting them on site) is recommended. In summary, a beautiful small-scale park in development with luxury houses for people looking for peace and quiet. In our opinion, it is less suitable for families with (young) children.”

“EuroParcs De Koog is a small car-free chalet park with over 30 chalets. It is located in the middle of Texel directly along the Postweg with some shrubby vegetation between the road and half the number of chalets present. Fortunately, the road was closed due to road works (April 2022) which resulted in much less traffic. This was good for peace. The chalets are brand new chalets from the builder Arcabo from Nieuwleusen, type Green Bay with beautiful windows on the corner. The plastic sliding door functioned very stiffly and was difficult to lock. The bathroom and master bedroom doors swing against each other when opened. This is very inconvenient, especially since the front doorway is behind this bedroom door. Arcabo, this can be done better by turning the bathroom door to the left instead of to the right, and sliding the doors slightly. Clear attention has been paid to the furnishing and decoration (also outside). Unfortunately, the mirror lighting in the bathroom was cold white, which seemed very intrusive, especially at night when you don't want to switch on the main lighting plus fan. Ventilation on a separate (time) switch would be an option. The durability is reasonable. There is waste separation in the parking lot, but a second waste bin for plastic is missing in the house. It is unclear where metal waste (tins, cans) and drink cartons should be deposited. Does this have to be with plastic (PMD)? Unfortunately, there are no solar panels to generate energy on sunny Texel, which has the ambition to provide its own energy. The heating consists of air conditioning that can also heat and 5 IR ceiling plates. There was a small playground in the dune sand for the little ones. Carts for luggage transport from the parking lot to the chalets (average 100 meters) are provided, which is handy! The welcome was very friendly. Overall a 4/5 score.”
