About the holiday home

Stay and relax in this lovely holiday home in the Gerkesklooster, Frisian countryside. A total of 5 people can stay in its 3-bedrooms comfortably. Let the calmness and tranquillity of this place sink in while you de-stress in the sauna or bubble bath of the home. There is now a new Sauna area and a totally private Jacuzzi area, so guests are free to go between Sauna and Jacuzzi.
This place is ideal for a group of friends or family members.

The Drachten centre is 20 km away from where you can shop for friends and families. The supermarket is located close by for buying daily essentials required for the stay. Enjoy the scrumptious meals and drinks from the restaurants 6 km away.

There is air-conditioning in the home to keep the hot and humid conditions away. Enjoy the sun while relaxing on the terrace. The kitchen is equipped with all the necessities for preparing delicious home-cooked meals.

There is a hot tub inside and a Jacuzzi outside with a sauna and there is a Garden Room for the ultimate epicureans among us.

There is now a new Sauna place and a totally private Jacuzzi area, so guests are free to go between Sauna and Jacuzzi.

Also enjoy the views of the Frisian countryside.

A car is a necessity! Please make sure you rent your own car!
For reasons of tranquillity, this holiday home will not be rented to groups of youngsters

“Booked for the Christmas holidays. Taking into account bad weather, jacuzzi, sauna, hot tub and fireplace available. Upon arrival, the temperature of the jacuzzi was still at 11 degrees 😞. Because it did not go up (even turned it on again at night), I emailed the contact person the next day. (I had to contact the supplier myself!!!!) So I decided to find out for myself. When I looked in good daylight, there was no need anymore. with this jacuzzi. Green and brown deposits in water that heats up are not a pleasant option! So it was not cleaned. I immediately took a good look at the hot tub in the house. Immediately looked up cleaning products and started cleaning myself. It was extremely dirty!!! Photos are available. After using the hot tub twice, it no longer worked. Upon arrival it turned out that the freezer was not turned on and we had to clean it ourselves. NB!! Sliding doors that make a lot of noise when opening and closing. When you visit the toilet at night, you make a lot of noise due to... these doors. We ultimately left the house cleaner than what we found. Certainly not worth repeating. Status is bad instead of very bad due to working sauna and fireplace. Not to be repeated.”

“The cottage exceeded our expectations. It is very quiet and offers a great view over the wide landscape. The house is very tastefully furnished, the kitchen is fully equipped with everything and the large bathroom is also suitable for wheelchair users. The garden is completely fenced, so dogs can stay there well. The whirlpool in the garden is the highlight :-) We were warmly welcomed on the first day and everything was well explained and shown to us by the landlord. Unfortunately, a week was too short to explore the whole area with the many leisure opportunities, but we would definitely like to come back next year and stay longer!”

“it was a nice house exactly as it is shown in the pictures, everything looked neat, the house is from 1902, piece was added in 2016, lovely bed in the master bedroom, nice bathroom, sleeping place in the attic not suitable for very long people. Beautiful kitchen, everything is available eg. coffee, tea, cleaning products etc. even herbs.Jacussie great in the garden, we were blessed with beautiful warm weather, wide view over the meadows. You can do shopping in the town of Buitenpost, equipped with all necessary shops. It is very admirable that this can be maintained by a man of 79 years, he was friendly, explained everything well, really a place to return to if you like peace and space.”

“Wonderful weekend in The Middle of Nowhere in Gerkerklooster in Friesland. Very nice Host! Although slightly dated, which is also the charm of this 1902 Frisian farmhouse, all amenities and wonderfully spacious. Sauna and Jacuzzi lovely. All fun within a half hour drive if you want to be touristy. Leeuwarden, Drachten, Groningen, the Wadden and the Lauwersoog nature reserve. Owner said that a charging station will also be placed for electric cars and that he will finish his garden even more. Lovely place, recommended!”
