“Incorrect or incomplete information about the house: * the garage cannot be used to park your car. It is for the garden furniture, wood for the fireplace and household waste... * the windows are almost all made of single glazing (some window parts are double glazing) * there is no Nespresso, but a (very old) Senseo machine that makes bad coffee. Problems during our stay: the toilet on the first floor did not drain, downstairs only very slowly (the problem was only solved by the landlord on Tuesday late afternoon, even though they had been informed much earlier), no timely response from the landlord , insufficient privacy, ... (see the many points below). Poor communication with the owner: he did not respond to WhatsApp, text messages, ringing the doorbell (he lives next door), telephone calls, an email to our questions and reported problems. Only on Tuesday afternoon when the owner came by to open the gate on the street did the owner respond with ... I don't read text messages, I didn't check who called me, it was Easter weekend after all (as if you shouldn't respond then if your tenants have questions or complaints) Many other comments: * damp smell in the kitchen and kitchen cupboards (the kitchen is about 60 cm lower than the garden) * only 1 small window in the bathroom had a fly screen => you cannot ventilate without flies and mosquitoes getting in (and there are many flies and mosquitoes) and without the risk of your pet (we were there with an indoor cat). Windows do not open in any direction, not in the upright position. * no separate shower, nor a shower wall or shower curtain on the bathtubs * musty smell in the house and an insufficiently heated house: we were the first guests after the winter period and the heating was only turned on on Thursday... * a leaking radiator in the upstairs bathroom * insufficient respect for privacy (even if you are not present): on Mondays the owner comes to the terrace and looks inside,”

“The house owner gave us a warm welcome despite the delay. The cottage was lovely furnished and well equipped. short hike to the beach was 20 minutes from the house. Just around the corner, 5 minutes away, was a nature reserve (dunes) where you could watch free-roaming donkeys and, with patience, pet them. The beach was nice but we didn't find the promenade attractive due to the high skyscrapers. There are beautiful little villages in the area that you can take a look at if you are interested. We will definitely rent the house again and can recommend it with the best of conscience. Small disadvantage!!! If you stay longer with children, it is advisable to change more things increase as there is no washing machine. Maybe the homeowner will reconsider this.”

“The house, an old fisherman's house, is beautifully decorated and the grounds on which it stands are huge and completely fenced off. We could therefore let our dog run around. It is within walking distance of the dunes and the center of Koksijde is also easily accessible. Mrs. Deman is very friendly and forthcoming and is on hand if needed.
