About the holiday home

For your next holiday in the Ardennes, this very beautiful villa for 9 people in the countryside of Houffalize will fulfill all your expectations. Apart from its very quiet location, this 5-bedroom villa has an infrared sauna and a beautiful garden to enjoy.

The town of Houffalize is less than 10 km away. Its surrounding area is well known to walking or cycling enthusiasts, signposted routes cover 100 km and the panoramic views are splendid. You can also get to La Roche en Ardennes easily to explore one of the region's unmissable tourist towns, and while out and about you can stop in Achouffe to taste the local beer.

The interior is very neat and you'll especially enjoy the bright veranda and its small lounge, as well as the playroom, parking, and a garage for one to two cars in the basement. Boules court, table tennis table, billiards, and table football are all provided for recreational purposes. A high chair and a children's bed can be used for the little ones.

For reasons of tranquillity, this holiday home will not be rented to groups of youngsters
Reservations for groups of persons under 25 years of age are not permitted
It is strictly forbidden to organise any student party, bachelor party or drinking party in this house

“Beautiful house, situated in a quiet area. Beautiful region. Unfortunately there were a few negative points. Several lights did not work. Above sink and above stove in kitchen, so cooking and washing dishes in the almost dark. Also in living room several spotlights that did not work. Ping-pong table but without balls, darts but only broken arrows and billiards with broken sticks. J"aimerais. Generally clean, especially the bedding, but dirty, greasy extractor hood. Please clean filter.”

Cobwebs everywhere. Refrigerator is half falling apart. Fortunately, the view makes it a bit better and the weather is good.”

“We were pleasantly surprised that the house was fly-free. The next day we noticed that no maintenance is being done. Both the dryer, dishwasher and carrier rack have had their day. There is no good furniture to sit outside. Two shabby tables are about to fall over. We post these comments because we already had a holiday there for the third and last time.”

Een aantal zaken mogen opgewaardeerd worden maar de prijs maakt dat dit geen probleem is. Wij waren niet op zoek naar luxe maar wel naar veel buitenruimte en gezellig samenzijn. Dat is hier heel goed gelukt!”

“Tops: Location nice, house big enough for 9 people, large garden with a view, beds fine Tips: Bathroom drain stinks, bathtub faucet leaks, it leaks in the basement, not all windows with curtains, kitchen inventory not complete (insufficient mugs, glasses), front left hob does not work, rubble in basement, clutter in cupboards, not all lighting works, coat rack broken bedroom. In short, the finish is unfortunately insufficient”

“The cleaning was poorly done, we stuck to the floor. The dishes were dirty. The coffee from the previous occupants was still in the garage. There was a lot of utensils in the house, which makes it look messy. The pool table was not set up properly so that the balls always rolled to one side. The walls were also too short against the pool table, so there was not enough space to use a normal stick to hit the balls. Wallpaper had been ripped off the walls, and there was a broken rocking chair camouflaged with a cushion. This was dangerous.”

“House with potential, where the passion is out. The house itself is very spacious and has a lovely quiet rural location. We have had a few nice days here which we thoroughly enjoyed. The owner who came by was also very nice and even brought a nice local special beer. Downside was that the holiday was shortened. The municipality went to work on the water pipe for 4 days, so that we would be without water for those days. This had escaped the attention of the owner. Had we known this in advance, we could have moved the holiday to another period. So unfortunately we had to leave earlier and although we got our money back for those days, this still leaves a somewhat bad aftertaste. However, inside there are a number of things that need to be replaced / supplemented: - The 3 sofas in the living room all 3 have a broken right armrest - The kettle looked far from clean (we didn't use it either) - The white bed with the bars creaks with every little movement- The Barbecue had so much ash on the ash plate that we didn't even use it. In addition, when making the beds, we came across tissues from one of the previous guests and hung in the conservatory still has several old fly strips. Finally, there were some stains here and there in various mattresses, pillows and blankets. As the title implies, the passion is somewhat out. Our conclusion is that with a few relatively simple adjustments and some attention, this can again become a wonderful holiday destination where guests can make beautiful memories.”

“Value for money was OK. Everything is getting old. Dishwasher doesn't clean properly Lamp in fridge gets so hot it melts cheese. There is a huge freezer, which was great. Sauna is only 60 degrees warm. Mattresses are read. There are no garbage cans. Lots of flies. Pool table is crooked. Ping pong table was good but the racquets were not. It smells very bad in the basement, but you can ventilate there. If you want to save and are willing to make compromises, you can book here quite well.”

Not forgetting the games room with table football, pool billiards and table tennis. Plus large playing field: grandchildren enjoyed it! User manual house and facilities and with tips about the environment (also shopping) would have been useful. Fortunately, great butcher, several bakers and 2 breweries found. A little further on: Bastogne War Museum and castles Roche en Ardennes and Bourscheid recommended!”

Coffee table broken, benches worn, kitchen utensils not complete, defective kettle, billiard room far too tight and so on.Living room and kitchen do not smell fresh, extractor hood stinks of old grease.Pluspunt is the large garden and sauna.Jammer, with a few simple adjustments, the house would be many times more comfortable!”

Price-quality ok, but quality can certainly be improved!”
