About the holiday home

On the riverside of the river Ourthe, in the beautiful region of La Roche-en-Ardenne, this is an atmospheric 13-bedroom holiday home. It comes with a furnished verandah to enjoy home-cooked meals and unwind after having a hectic day. The holiday home is perfect for a large family of 36 members.

The surrounding area lends itself for fun day trips that include the caves of Hotten, Domaine du Floréal, Deister, Nisramont and Rochers du Hérou. You can go for walks, enjoy bike rides and play tennis. In the winter you'll find cross country skiing and skiing opportunities nearby. Restaurants and grocery stores are at 1.5 km.

This holiday home has central heating. From the living room and patio, you enjoy stunning views of the Ourthe Valley. In the evenings, you all can be gathered around the hot barbecue on the private terrace. Later, you can be at the bar for a refreshing drink and night talk. For babies, cot and high chair are provided for free, on request. Parking for cars is available.

For reasons of tranquillity, this holiday home will not be rented to groups of youngsters
Reservations for groups of persons under 20 years of age are not permitted
The home owner has the right to demand an additional deposit, in case the group composition of the tenants gives rise to this based upon previous experiences
It is strictly forbidden to organise any student party, bachelor party or drinking party in this house
This holiday home is available for recreational purposes only. Bookings on behalf of companies will be cancelled and possible cancellation costs will be charged

“It was a fantastic stay. Almost every room has it's own bathroom, a garage for in our case our bikes, great kitchen en nearby La Roche. 20 min walk. Yes, it is an old building (looks like a former hotel) and needs some fresh paint but nevertheless lots of space and ideal for groups.”

“The group home is large, old and fully equipped, such as a large hotel kitchen (fantastic to organize a nice cooking workshop for your group). The maintenance leaves much to be desired. There are a number of leaks, the radiators on the top floor do not get warm (partly solved with an additional electric heating). It didn't matter much to us as a group, but if your requirements are higher, the overdue maintenance can cause irritation. But then, the house is fantastically located, close to the Ourthe, close to the village, close to the woods. Super!”

“We rented the house for a family weekend during the Easter holidays. One day before arrival we received a message to deposit the deposit and to send proof of this. After this we received the necessary information to obtain the key. On arrival we had to search, photograph and forward all meters. The house smelled musty and hadn't been used for a while. The rooms were clean, the bathrooms were also clean. The house has been partially refurbished but there is still a lot of work to be done. The owners do try to cheer up everything with decoration. We asked ourselves big questions about the electricity and fire safety of the house. The working of the sockets was also a mystery. One worked, the other didn't, same with the light switches, there was no logic to it. Also the terrace had clearly not been done for a long time. We did not use the veranda and terrace because of the bad weather. The large rooms gave a nice view, but the windows are partly overgrown with ivy. The windows throughout the building are in need of replacement, some are cracked, no longer open or close completely. The kitchen is still a large hotel kitchen and could use a cleaning. This is an old house that used to serve the well-to-do population, but has now passed its time. It has already been partially renovated and the owners are really making an effort to make something of it, but there is still a long way to go. Pluses are the many rooms of the house, the beautiful, cozy bar with living room and the location relative to the center.”

“The residence is old and had suffered under 1.5 years of vacancy due to corona, but the person in charge certainly did her best to make it as good as possible for us. I am not at all satisfied with the administrative contact that preceded our stay : unclear, no answer or very late answer to the questions, not the feeling of being looked after with the necessary attention, the inability to easily consult with you about questions, not making it clear in advance that VAT is not recoverable because Switzerland is invoiced. I am absolutely not satisfied with all this and it will prevent me from doing business with you in the future. Unfortunate.”

“The arrival was well arranged. The explanation about the operation of all the difficult equipment gas cooker (may be replaced, take gas lighter), light switches switchboard, went way too fast. Like a clear Dutch explanation above the light switches of the switch box in the corridor, write it in pencil above what they serve. The beds are fine, only many types, so take 1 and 2 persons and much larger mattress sheets. the free waste bags for pmd, fit exactly in the trash can in the kitchen.Pannen coasters are missing, serving spoons too. Accommodation is fine and surroundings also mooi.Heerlijk outdoor seating on terrace in good weather.”

In addition, the crockery in the open racks was caked with residues of dirt. The dishwasher does not function properly.”

The heating is regularly off and water is not always warm. That differs per room. The house needs a thorough refurbishment. That did not harm the atmosphere.”
