“With our family (10 adults, 4 children) we stayed for a week during the Christmas holidays in the beautiful monumental farm of Johan and Conny. The reception on the large parking lot with curious aurochs was already promising. Closely followed by a cordial tour by Johan with a nice glass of wine including snacks in a house completely decorated in a Christmas atmosphere! The farm offers every comfort: an excellently equipped kitchen, suitable for the most lavish Christmas dinners. Many beautifully decorated bedrooms with good beds. Spacious sanitary facilities, good heating. Outside two jacuzzis at a perfect temperature and a sauna in one of the outbuildings. The more than 7 meter long table was the epicenter for us: eating, drinking, games, crafts - hours were spent in the beautiful dining room. And everything was just as clean. Outside there is no less entertainment. In the immediate vicinity beautiful hiking areas such as De Regte Heide, mock airfield De Kiek, the burial mounds and the Ooijevaarsnest. Or a ride to Breda for a visit to the Reptile House on a rainy day. For the price-conscious holidaymaker it may not be the cheapest group accommodation, but it is well worth the money. Absolutely recommended!”

“The house is spacious but quite dated. The garden should be beautiful but in the winter you don't have that much aan.Irritant is creaky central heating pipes at night .. The indoor pool is closed in the winter should not be in the fine print and then also removed from the photo report. There is no chair or couch really nice so after 6 days quite an attack for your rug.Overall a reasonable stay but not top.”

“Lovely spacious farmhouse, with good kitchen, living room, bedrooms and sanitary facilities. A big advantage is the outbuilding with swimming pool and sauna and also a spacious garden with whirlpool. Landlords are very friendly and respond quickly. It is not cheap, but very worthwhile .”

“Very nice house and pleasant reception. I would just do something about the oven (s). The oven in the kitchen is small and quite unfriendly to use and the oven in the basement simply does not get hot enough. Even for a relatively small group I was endlessly busy. “We stayed with Conny and Johan for a week with a group of 14 adults and we loved it! Conny warmly welcomed us with champagne and nibbles and gave us a tour of the house as well as the garden and the annex. The property is huge, is located in a very quiet environment and is decorated with great attention to detail. I personally found it even nicer than the photos and the big surprise was the 2nd whirlpool we didn't know about! The house is decorated in a modern style and was super clean, but it is a very old house and we were there in February and had both heavy rain and snow, which led to the ceiling (the largest and most beautiful) bathroom below dripped, which didn't bother us either, because the thing was done with a bucket underneath. A bathroom on the upper floor had a leaky siphon, which was also ok, as there were 2 more bathrooms on the same floor that could be used. I personally think that you shouldn't complain about something like this if you know how much care and work such a beautiful old house needs, it's just information that the owners should know to be able to take care of it. Because it was very cold we used a lot of wood which was refilled. Thank you again for that !!!! The environment is very quiet and beautiful for walks. It took 1 hour to Rotterdam and 1.5 hours to Amsterdam, which I think is perfectly fine for a day trip. We would definitely book it again and again and I can well imagine that it is EVEN nicer in summer because there are so many seating areas for large groups and families in the garden and you can also use the large pool in the annex. We can highly recommend it! Many thanks to Conny for the uncomplicated communication! My SMS did not go through, but wa over the phone”

About the holiday home

This beautiful farmhouse is located in Alphen in North Brabant. The house has a warm interior with beautiful details. You will find a luxurious living room, a spacious kitchen, a dining room, 7 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. It can accommodate 16 people: families, friends and households are all welcome.

For a day out, this region offers plenty of attractions. Explore beautiful Breda, take a day trip to the Efteling or the Beekse bergen. Or go walking or cycling among the countryside on the border between the Netherlands and Belgium.

Various seating areas have been created in the enormous garden. The whirlpool (in use all year round) has been concealed as an ornamental element in a terrace garden. Finally, you also have a wellness area with a swimming pool (open from mid-March until the end of October) and a sauna. This house is next to the same owner's house NL-5131-10, but they are separated by a road. The houses are equipped with a filter coffee machine and, in addition, there is also a Senseo pads machine available.
