“The stay itself was certainly fine. Clean, lots of space, nice environment, ... Some small comments: 1) you can stay there with a lot of people, but there is relatively little material available in the kitchen. Limited place settings, oven dishes,... 2) The pool/jacuzzi is 2-in-1. However, the jacuzzi is cold and the pool should offer the possibility that you can swim by means of a jet in the pool, but it does not provide enough counter current to swim. Fun to play with the kids of course! 3) Not a house for grown-ups. Low doors and ceilings. Hit my head several times... 4) Last but not least: the energy bill afterwards. Beautiful solar panels on the villa, but apparently they are not used to the fullest? Afterwards we had to pay more than €400 (!!!) for a long weekend of 4 nights with 6 adults and 5 small children. Exaggerated, I think because they heat the pool (but not enough because it was cold) on pellets instead of the solar panels.”

“House is nice but in terms of heating and electricity quite outdated. The manager also came to the door on Saturday evening and walked right past us because the wifi was not working properly. (He lives in the same house in a separate part). We have often rented houses in the Ardennes, but this one was a bit disappointing with what we were used to. In their defense it was quite a bit cheaper than usual.”

“L"Ecurie offered us space and security for our family with growing children (pre-adolescents to young adults) at the same time, with a place for all ages to do their thing - or to do nothing. The kitchen is very well equipped, but if you... If you are with 14 people, it may be a bit too small to cook for yourself. You can also eat outside on the covered and well-sheltered terrace in winter, but baking a pizza in the outdoor oven turned out not to be realistic. wide range of shops and restaurants in the area, but for that you have to take the car - or your bike! The area is very beautiful and ideal for cycling and walking, Only serious downside: the energy bill, The house is barely insulated and a number of rooms have heating on electricity - that is rising strongly, Nevertheless, we can warmly recommend it!”

“We thought it was a successful accommodation.Wel a point that was disappointing, and was also indicated by others, the flies.What a fly say.It should be possible to place a screen door or something similar.We thought this was a really big downside. But, because we had been "warned" we had already hung a kind of net curtain as a fly screen in front of the / in the kitchen door. Which was also a point. there was a cowhide or something similar on the ground floor next to the kitchen, it just smelled. Or, there must have been pets in the house for us. We put that cowhide directly outside under the canopy. As for the dishwasher, sometimes it worked, other times it didn't. Or just not clean. Perhaps we did something wrong, but in our opinion it was not reliable. Other than that, very satisfied. Also beautiful surroundings.”

“Arrival went fine! Door was open, and on the door telephone number of administrator. Beautiful environment! House needs some maintenance. In case of problems, the manager comes very quickly. We had groceries with us for the first few days, that was nice. There are no baking trays, we had not taken this into account and also had no foil or baking paper with us. Pool was nice and sauna too! No internet access in Gasthuis. We had not taken other plugs into account. Think of this because the house has no world plugs. Final settlement we found better than expected after reading all the reviews. We look back on a wonderful holiday!”

“Arrival went well. Nice accommodation and the area is very beautiful. The description states that and a toilet is in the guesthouse, but that is not the case. Very unfortunate because now had to walk to the house for the toilet also at night. In the house were only 3 toilets so not very much if you are with 12 people. Price of the house is not very expensive, but there will come a lot of costs and a very high deposit that had to be paid (even for the summer there will be a large cost for electricity)”

“On arrival it was told that the shower on the first floor is leaking and we could not use it. Although we did not use that shower, it continued to leak throughout the week. It leaked through to the secret room so we couldn't use it either. The pool and the climbing wall were very nice for the kids. The pizza oven in the garden was a hit. Every room has its own theme, very nice. The children enjoyed themselves in the garden and the swimming pool. The area is very nice for walking. Plopsa coo is half an hour away and recommended for children up to the age of 10. All in all, had a nice week.”

“For a week we lost more than 600, - of gas water and light. That is ridiculously great !!! It was a downer after a wonderful week's vacation. We were careful with water, light and heating because the high costs were described earlier in the reviews. This was of no avail. So do you want to book? Remember that little deposit is returned on departure. The house was very beautiful! We had several leaks after the shower of the shower on the first and second floor. Swimming pool and sauna (door does not close) was also fine.”

About the holiday home

At the foot of the High Fens lies this authentic holiday home. The old farmhouse has been completely renovated with a good eye for originality, eco-friendliness and comfort. The home is perfect for many families and features a sauna and jacuzzi, so that guests can relax and rejuvenate. In summers, the jacuzzi temperature is maintained at 34 degrees and does not work with electricity but with pellets.

You can go for long walks or hikes in the surrounding area. The beautiful surroundings are full of great hiking trails. A castle can be found nearby, and Lake Robertville is definitely a must-see too. The nearby town of Malmedy offers entertainment for young and old.

In one of the bedrooms everything is made of wood, even the sink is hidden in a wooden built-in cupboard. From the bathroom, if you're lucky, you can admire a bird's nest under the edge of the roof. And outside, the courtyard with playground equipment or the large volleyball court offer space for everyone. And as if that wasn't enough, you will find a wonderful authentic oven under a roof in the courtyard. Ideal for baking your own pizzas in it. Being a child friendly property, trampoline, boules court, cot and high chair are also available. Max. 1 pet is allowed for a small fee on this property. Or who will discover the unique fire corner? The owner will be happy to show you all the hidden treasures of this holiday home.

A few metres away from the main house is a small outbuilding. Two to four people can sleep here. The environmentally friendly concept goes even further here with a 'dry' toilet and a 'pure nature' rain shower.
