He did receive a text message indicating that he could only be reached in writing. We have experienced this as very unwelcoming. When a lamp was broken in the hallway, we reported it by text message; there was no response to that. After a day the handle of the front door was gone and 2 of us were on the street. Called again, didn't pick up. Then there was a text message response. Someone was sent immediately to make things right. Because communication was so difficult, we also called Belvilla. It was the weekend, so called the Belvilla emergency number. They didn't pick up!! That's a great emergency number!! Left a message, but never heard from Belvilla again. Belvilla may have heard something from the owner, but a feedback to us seems appropriate. Most importantly, however, is the fact that there were 3 keys for our party. Due to an unfortunate turn of events, it happened that 3 keys were already on the road with people, while 4 of us were still inside. However, other guests use the same main front door of the building. They had locked the front door. So we were locked up with 4 people. It was quickly resolved for us at that time.
