“The house is a good size. The village should not be called a village, because there are a few restaurants and a supermarket, but nothing at all. The house does not have an unobstructed view but looks onto other houses. The second bathroom is located in the living area and not near the bedrooms, so you hardly use it. The kitchen is fully equipped.”

“The house was fantastic, wonderfully spacious. We were there with 4 adults and 3 children. The kitchen is well equipped. Beautiful view from the dining / living table! We missed a (heated) ski boot rack for the ski boots to dry them properly at night. (There would certainly be room for that in the space of the washing machine)”

“Thanks to the possibility of online check-in, the handing over of the keys does not take long on arrival, the house is perfectly prepared, well equipped overall and corresponds exactly to the description on the website. Clearing snow, spreading the paths, everything well organized. The only small problem: the garbage disposal doesn't seem to work properly, if you sort your garbage well, you're reluctant to just throw used glass in a corner...”

“Good and friendly welcome from the reception in the neighboring hotel. The accommodation is very well equipped and nice and spacious. Noticeable that it has been in the rental business for several years now and that there is no annual zero point in terms of inventory. The surroundings are beautiful, but during the walks you walk a lot in the pine forests, so you have fewer views than in other regions. The work referred to in the advertisement is clearly noticeable at the moment. We were bothered by it on every working day from 7:15 to 7:30 PM because building was being done exactly behind the house. After mid-September you will probably have less trouble with that since there is no more direct construction behind the house.”

“There was not really a reception when we received the code from the key box a few hours before arrival and so the house was ready. That was okay. Everything was perfectly fine and everything was itself. The house is very well equipped with everything needed and more. For example, there were a kitchen scale, toaster, measuring cup, hair dryer, ironing board and iron. You name it it was there. Furthermore, it is a very light house, comfortably clean and spacious. Even with a larger group it is a comfortable house. We were two of us. Bathroom fantastic. Bedrooms all with enough cupboard space. Beds good pillows for Dutch people limp. WiFi worked perfectly.We missed only one thing, but perhaps we didn't look well, there were no pillows for the wooden seats outside. Those seats are good, but are hard over time. There are no Dutch TV channels. We didn't mind that. Environment is very beautiful. Lots of sports. Keep in mind that the height can make it cold outside. Colder than in Trieben, which is only 15 minutes away. New chalets are being built close by. On arrival you will see the construction work, but we were not bothered by it. Unlike in the photos, the chalet is no longer as free. And the wood on the outside has become weathered and gray. Under the carport our car got wet with rain and melting snow. The carport next to ours was dry. We thought it was over the top, given the price of the property, that bed linen and towels had to be paid extra.”

“Luxury holiday home in a small but nice ski area. Nice way to the house you (only 2 hairpin bends), within walking distance of the ski area. The ski rental is only a 2-minute drive or a 30-minute walk away. The house is equipped with all modern conveniences, a lovely fireplace, comfortable beds and enough space for many people. Highly recommended is the sleigh ride from the Edelraute hut and then very nice food at Pfahlbaudorf at the bottom of the mountain!”

“The accommodation was perfect all in all, you could not figure out what was not. We have been here for 2c with 2 families and have enjoyed ourselves. The area is beautiful but if you want a nice city it's about a half hour drive but good to do. For hiking, mountain biking and fishing everything is within reach of the house. All in all a very nice house where you can entertain yourself well. Greetings from Oldenzaal from July 22 to August 5, 2017 we have been there”

About the holiday home

This detached chalet for a maximum of 8 people in the Almdorf Hohentauern is located in the middle of the village of Hohentauern (snow-sure altitude 1300 m) on a sunny slope with impressive panoramic views over the mountains, the ski lift and the village.

This beautiful chalet has a spacious living room with seating area and gas fireplace, an open fully equipped kitchen, 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms (1 on the ground floor with luxury rain shower and an infrared sauna). From the living room you have access to a large, partially covered sun terrace with garden furniture. The chalet also has a ski storage room, a washing machine and a tumble dryer. You can park directly under the carport at the chalet.

There are wonderful views of the mountains from the chalet and from the various terraces. There are even 2 mountain bikes available for active holidaymakers. In winter, Styria turns into Austria's "white heart" with beautiful ski resorts. The Hohentauern ski area with 11 kilometers of slopes is within walking distance (in winter the ski lift is 200m from the chalet), the snow-sure Kreischberg / Murau ski area extends to the neighboring Rosenkranzhöhe and offers a total of 42 kilometers of slopes.

In summer, the area is particularly known for its lakes, thermal baths and the impressive Hohe Tauern mountain range.

The reception at Almdorf Hohentauern can only be reached by telephone on Wednesdays.
