About Tjörnarp
Kilometres of beaches, beautiful skerries, open landscapes and luxuriant forests. The two most southern areas in Sweden, Skåne and Blekinge, have something for every taste. You may fish for salmon in the Mörrum river, go for a swim, sunbathe by one of the beautiful sand beaches or take a boat trip in the skerries. In the northern area of Skåne, there are kilometres of beaches, fine nature reserves and nice villages. By the nature reserve of Kullaberg, you will find Nimis which is one of Skåne`s most popular attractions. Nimis is a unique piece of art situated quite inaccessibly on a stone beach. The monument is worth a visit and the artist, Lars Vilks has built the monument out of driftwood from bridges, tunnels, towers etc. Båstad is known for Swedish Open in tennis. The tennis tournament attracts a lot of people to the popular and annually held Bostad week. People make a lot of fuss lifting up the pace at Bjärehallvön. In case you feel like having a quiet moment to yourself, you will be able to find some peace and quiet by one of the beautiful beaches or at Hovs Haller situated right at the spot, where the cliffs overhang the sea. The distance between Helsingborg and Helsingör is less than 4 kilometres, and therefore a lot of people choose to take the ferry. The ferry route is the most trafficked one in the world. The third biggest city in Sweden is Malmö. Malmö gives a lot of inspiration to spend a day in the city. Malmö is close to the Scanian countryside and offers a lively street life, more than 800 shops, an exciting history and a lot of cultural activities. The Malmö festival, which is held a week every year, brings a lot of activities and liveliness to the city. The festival offers different shows, concerts and events. In case you missed the festival, you could e.g. visit the Aqva-kul which is the biggest indoor water world in Scandinavia. Österlen is known for its beautiful nature, stretch of coast and its artists. You will be able to walk among the many galleries and studios and meet painters and glassblowers. At Easter 100,000 visitors go to the city in order to see what the different artists have created during winter. The children can experience a lot of fun in Tosselilla Sommerland with different swimming pools, jumping pillows and rollercoasters. On the Tarzan path you can walk on stilts, and in Tivoliland you can ride on a merry-go-round. Go-cart and pony riding are also popular activities among children.
