About the holiday home

Spacious house with a good standard in quiet and idyllic surroundings with a seafront location on charming Lyrön, south of Orust by car ferry with only 2 minutes crossing, which runs regularly. A perfect house for two families or larger groups who want to live in a typical Bohuslän environment, with walking distance to salty baths and tranquil surroundings. The house is beautifully situated on a large lovely unobstructed plot with both garden, natural plot and lawn for play and games. Here the whole family will have a wonderful holiday!

Start the day with a morning dip and then sit on one of the nice patios or patio with a cup of freshly brewed coffee. A better start to the day is hard to come by. The house is on two floors where the entrance floor houses a modern kitchen, nice dining room, spacious living room with TV corner and wood burning stove. Two bedrooms, one with two single beds and one with a double bed that has sliding doors to the hall. There is also a bathroom with shower and WC and an extra guest toilet.

Upstairs there are two more bedrooms where one has a sofa bed 140 cm wide and is a walk-through room to the next bedroom which has a modern day bed / single bed which is easily converted into a comfortable double bed in the evening. On this floor there is also a modern fully tiled bathroom with shower & WC and living room with sofa and bar.

The house has both a protected terrace under the roof and a larger wooden deck where you can relax in the sun loungers or lie and read a good book in the hammock. Choose yourself if you want to follow the sun's in the sky or sit sheltered in the shade.

Lyr, or Lyrön is an island south of Orust. The island has been inhabited since the Stone Age, but today most summer residents live here. Here are chief's graves and burial mounds from the Bronze Age for those interested in history. The island has no shop but there is a very good fish shop & restaurant on the other side of the island; Bryggvingen. Do not miss a visit here! They have their own fishing boat that lands their catch below the restaurant, so it could not be fresher. The island is to some extent a nature reserve and a lovely island to walk or bike on. Good swimming opportunities are also available in several places, both beach baths and rock baths. Nearest bathing place about 400 m. On the island you can also play mini golf. Around Lyrön there are fantastic waters for kayaking. Two bicycles are available on loan during your stay.

At a few km distance are the three charming archipelago communities Hälleviksstrand, Mollösund and Nösund. In Hälleviksstrand you should not miss a visit to Sjöbodscafét which serves delicious sandwiches and pastries in a fantastic environment, in the middle of piers and boats. In Mollösund there are several good restaurants, cobbled streets with beautiful old houses and also a grocery store. Nösund has two nice bathing spots and historic Nösundsvärdshus with a good restaurant and entertainment by famous artists. Also do not miss taking the ferry to the beautiful islands Käringön and Gullholmen.

For service and grocery store in Varekil or Ellös about 15-17km. If you are interested in shopping, you should not miss a visit to Göksäter in the middle of Orust with the bargain department store Arvid Eriksson, which is popularly called "Little Ullared". Nöjesstaden Göteborg 80 km. At Orust there are opportunities for many activities - kayaking, diving, fishing, playing golf or just enjoying the tranquility and the beautiful nature. Cats have lived in the house and are also welcome to live in the house, not dogs.

Welcome to a spacious house in idyllic surroundings on the West Coast!

About the area

About Orust

West coast Bohuslän Warm cliffs, red boat houses, perfect fishing places, water sports and exciting tourist attractions are just some out of many experiences that Bohuslän on the Swedish west coast can offer you. There are a lot of activities for families with children. For instance you can visit an amusement park or a zoological park, exciting fortresses or museums where you can explore and experience.

Bohuslän has its own beautiful archipelago. Go visiting the Koster islands in the northern part of Bohuslän where you can enjoy the beautiful nature on your rented bicycle. You can also travel by boat to Bohuslän from Strømstad, a nice town, especially during the summer.

Sotenäs municipality consists of both large and small communities. Smögenbryggan is the most famous tourist attraction in the area. People from near and far come in order to see the lively boat traffic, shop in the stores and enjoy a nice meal in the cosy restaurants nearby.

Lysekil is situated in the outermost part of the boat harbour, and even if you stay in the centre of the town, the water and the boats are always quite near. A walk in Gamlestan is also worth experiencing.

The Skaftø peninsula is now known as the “salt island”, Saltøen, thanks to the Swedish television series of the same name. Picturesque places like e.g. Fiskebäckskil, Grundsund and Rågårdsvik are all well-attended in the summer.

At Törn and Orust there are nice bays and a beautiful nature. There are a lot of boats, and from Tjörn into the archipelago you can go on different boat trips. The short distance to Göteborg makes a day trip to Liseberg perfect.
