Lyr, or Lyrön is an island south of Orust. The island has been inhabited since the Stone Age, but today most summer residents live here. Here are chief's graves and burial mounds from the Bronze Age for those interested in history. The island has no shop but there is a very good fish shop & restaurant on the other side of the island; Bryggvingen. Do not miss a visit here! They have their own fishing boat that lands their catch below the restaurant, so it could not be fresher. The island is to some extent a nature reserve and a lovely island to walk or bike on. Good swimming opportunities are also available in several places, both beach baths and rock baths. Nearest bathing place about 400 m. On the island you can also play mini golf. Around Lyrön there are fantastic waters for kayaking. Two bicycles are available on loan during your stay.

In Mollösund there are several good restaurants, cobbled streets with beautiful old houses and also a grocery store. Nösund has two nice bathing spots and historic Nösundsvärdshus with a good restaurant and entertainment by famous artists. Also do not miss taking the ferry to the beautiful islands Käringön and Gullholmen.
