About the holiday home

Nice cottage near the sea, swimming and golf.

Welcome to this nice and sunny guest house very close to Gullmarsfjorden which is Sweden's largest fjord and Torreby golf course which is Bohuslän's oldest golf course. The course is located in a castle environment with an English-inspired castle park. From the cottage it is walking distance to some of Torreby golf course's holes.

Around the cottage there are great opportunities for hiking and in the surrounding forests there is both a rich wildlife and berries and mushrooms. The area is also well known for its white moose, if you are lucky it may pass by some early morning or late evening.

Gullmarsfjorden's salt water invites to both fishing and swimming from the bathing area near the cottage. The Örekilsälven River, which is a popular river for salmon fishing, flows through Munkedal, and many sport fishing enthusiasts have tried their luck over the years.

At the cottage you are welcomed by balconies both at the side and at the entrance of the cottage. Once inside, you meet an open floor plan with a combined kitchen with stove, microwave, fridge / freezer and living room with TV and sofa bed as well as a bedroom with bunk bed and a bathroom with shower. On the terrace there is outdoor furniture and barbecue, where you can enjoy animals and nature in a tranquil environment while you discuss today's adventures or plan for new ones. Washing machine can be borrowed via contact with the cottage owner.

Munkedal municipality has very varied and worth visiting nature areas, everything from sea and fjord environments to deep forests with lakes and rivers. From Kasernas canoe center, an approximately 40 km long paddling trail runs through lakes and streams, a fantastic opportunity to explore a beautiful part of the local area. From the cottage you can also easily reach other municipalities and excursion destinations worth visiting, for example. take the local road past Saltkällan, Skredsvik, Rotviksbro take a stop at "Två Fröknar" which is a cozy shop with both furnishings and clothes. Next door is the restaurant Stallgården, which also sells organic ingredients in the shop "Stallgården's pantry". Then continue with some shopping at Torp Köpcentrum or why not explore ex. Moose of Anneröd with its fantastic moose park or a visit to Bohusläns Museum. From the cottage you can also make easy day trips to Nordens Ark, Havets Hus in Lysekil, Smögenbryggan, fishing and boat communities in the northern part of Bohuslän.

About the area

About Munkedal

West coast Bohuslän Warm cliffs, red boat houses, perfect fishing places, water sports and exciting tourist attractions are just some out of many experiences that Bohuslän on the Swedish west coast can offer you. There are a lot of activities for families with children. For instance you can visit an amusement park or a zoological park, exciting fortresses or museums where you can explore and experience.

Bohuslän has its own beautiful archipelago. Go visiting the Koster islands in the northern part of Bohuslän where you can enjoy the beautiful nature on your rented bicycle. You can also travel by boat to Bohuslän from Strømstad, a nice town, especially during the summer.

Sotenäs municipality consists of both large and small communities. Smögenbryggan is the most famous tourist attraction in the area. People from near and far come in order to see the lively boat traffic, shop in the stores and enjoy a nice meal in the cosy restaurants nearby.

Lysekil is situated in the outermost part of the boat harbour, and even if you stay in the centre of the town, the water and the boats are always quite near. A walk in Gamlestan is also worth experiencing.

The Skaftø peninsula is now known as the “salt island”, Saltøen, thanks to the Swedish television series of the same name. Picturesque places like e.g. Fiskebäckskil, Grundsund and Rågårdsvik are all well-attended in the summer.

At Törn and Orust there are nice bays and a beautiful nature. There are a lot of boats, and from Tjörn into the archipelago you can go on different boat trips. The short distance to Göteborg makes a day trip to Liseberg perfect.
