Denmark is an ideal golf country. The gentle hills of the Danish landscape and the high standard of the golf courses offer many possibilities of fine golf experiences - whatever your handicap might be.
There are 138 golf courses located in all regions of Denmark. During the last 15 years golf has become more and more popular resulting in golf courses in all Danish medium-sized cities. Often the courses are situated in areas with a beautiful nature.
The Danish courses are known as being very hospitable. They have a long tradition for permitting players from outside to play with a quest status. However, in most clubs you need to show a documentation for your handicap and your membership to a golf club. If you contact the administration of the club they will inform you about the prices - the so-called green-fees - as well as the handicap limit, if any.
The training facilities of the Danish clubs are generally of a very high standard. There are some fine driving ranges, putting greens and bunker areas. You will often find cosy restaurants with reasonable prices in connection to the clubs.
The weather in Denmark permits golf playing all the year round. The season will often last until December, especially when we have the mild winters like those seen during the latest years. Spring offers new qualities to the golf player when the trees burst into leaf, and everything unfolds. Also the temperature is often pleasant, 15-16 degrees, both during spring and fall.
Denmark is considered one of the cheapest golf countries in Europe. The price level is approx. DKK 180,00 for workdays and DKK 300,00 for weekends. The clubs often have special green fee prices when we are talking about more than one day or about groups.
In a number of clubs it is possible to get a green fee valid for the entire day, and in many locations you can rent the golf clubs at an expense of approx. DKK 100,00 for a set of good quality. To rent a golf trolley will cost approx. DKK 30,00.
